Kristen (Entwistle) Mudrack is a child of God, a sinner saved by grace. When she was 3 months old Kristen was diagnosed with a life-shortening genetic disease known as cystic fibrosis (CF). As she battled this disease from a young age, she came to rely on God to see her through each day. Kristen began to feel God’s call on her life to share the testimony He has worked in her life in college, much to her chagrin. It was like pulling teeth to get her to talk about her journey, but eventually she gave in, and hasn’t looked back because she’s seen God work through it. Though parts of her story are difficult to tell, she hopes that those who hear what God has done in her life will be encouraged, challenged, and pointed to the Everlasting God. She is currently a college chemistry professor at Milligan College in TN, and lives nearby with her husband, Cody.
In Her Own Words
One of my favorite songs is ‘In Christ Alone.’ I love the story that it tells, but I especially love the last verse:
No guilt in life, no fear in death, this is the power of Christ in me.
From life’s first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man, can ever pluck me from his hand,
till he returns, or calls me home, here in the power of Christ, I’ll stand.
It’s in that power I want to serve; it’s in that power I want to love; it’s in that power I want to give, and it’s in that power that I can, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. I’m not going to stand here and say that I’m not afraid of death, but I have more to live for than that. I’m not just a person with an early expiration date, I’m a powerful tool for God’s kingdom here on earth, and I’m willing to be used as such. I want to be a servant of God all the days of my life, no matter how many of them I have left.
